Hello all :) So. I started out making a cherry themed kit. Then decided I wanted something fun to accent it..stripes..polka-dots..some other stuff lol..finally landed on damask!! I think it's so pretty and haven't really done much with the pattern in other kits so decided to give it a whirl. The end result doesn't have many cherries though..I bounce around a lot on ideas, haha!! Ok, enough chit chat. You can find this kit in any of my stores listed to the left of my blog.
This kit has 65 elements and 10 papers. Tagger sized, personal use only. Please don't upload and share with others for free...a lot of hard work went into making this.
I'd love to see anything made with this or any of my kits...have fun :o)
And don't forget about my sale this month!

Supplies:
Kit- Urban Chic by Abstract Creations. You can find this great kit at The PSP Project here

Tube- I'm using the work of Arthur Crowe which you can purchase from his store here. You need a valid license to use his artwork.

Mask- Mask by Lexi from the Creative Chicks blog here (LC_CCMask_July1)

Template- Template04-YvetteEOC here

Font- LDJ Jilly Nilly

Photoshop CS5 or program of choice
I'm on a Mac, so when I use Command you may need to use Ctrl.

Here we go :)

Open your template. Image>duplicate. Close out original. Go ahead and resize it to what you want. I usually do mine around 625-650. Delete the credit layer.
Working the template from bottom to top, replace the layers with papers from the kit.
To do this, place paper above template layer, right-click on paper and Create Clipping Mask.
Right-click again and Merge Clipping Mask.
black rectangles- paper 3
grey squares- paper 6
grey rectangle- paper 5
frames- Filter>Noise>Add Noise
oval- double click to bring up layer styles:
Right-click and convert to smart object.
Clip close ups of your tube to the oval.
On one of the close ups, I duplicated it, changed both copies blend mode to soft light, and desaturated the bottom copy (Command+Shift+U).
On the other, I did blend mode Overlay, opacity 63%. Just play around with it :)
Add elements from the kit to your tag..from bottom to top I used:
51
13
54
34
40
12
32
21
4
10
53
49

Now let's get our mask ready! Open your mask on a new canvas.
Add a new layer above it, and flood fill with color of choice,
or use a paper from kit .
Make sure your mask layer is activated and Command+A to Select All, Command+C to Copy.
Activate the paper layer, hit Q to turn on Quick Mask mode.
Command+V to paste the mask..it should now be tinted red.
Hit Q to turn off Quick Mask mode and there should now be marching ants on your canvas.
Hit the Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the layer palette (rectangle with the circle in it)
Right click- convert to smart object
Right click- Rasterize layer
Drag completed mask to your tag canvas as the bottom layer
Resize it if needed.

With your Rectangular Marquee Tool (m), draw out a selection around the entire
tag, just slight smaller than the canvas. Image>Crop.
This will get rid of any stray pixels or drop shadows you don't see.
Image>Trim>Top Left Pixel Corner to remove the excess space.
Add your license and copyright info to the tag.
Add name and any other text of choice.
Merge, save as PNG and enjoy :)

Thank you for trying my tut! If you have any questions or would like to show me your results, feel free to email me (bananas_68@yahoo.com) or friend me on facebook (badge on left of blog)!!

Open Frame 2 and place it in center of canvas. Hit W to activate your magic wand tool.
Click inside the frame. Select>Modify<Expand by 5px.
Add Paper 8 below frame. Select>Inverse. Hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect.
Add your kit elements and arrange on tag. To resize the elements, Command+T or Edit>Free Transform. Then click the link between the W and H to maintain aspect ratios. Drag the box from the corners to the middle until you get the size you want.
